For the longest time, I’ve always felt that I was different from most. Back then in the old school, I remember being alone but happily reading something like magazines or books. Would spend time in the library, reading stuffs. Sometimes, I go walking around, looking for new stuffs to be learned. I tried to have a good time with students but they seemed too busy trying to look cool and worry about the game of attraction. Though I had a crush on some girls, they never wanted to be with the only Asian kid with slanty eyes. Luckily, I have my parents, mentors, and teachers who kept supporting me and that if I worked hard enough, something good will come up.

When I become a father someday in the future, I’ll be the best father a kid will have. I will show my kid the best movies that must be seen (Lord of the Rings, Matrix, Star Wars, Shawshank redemption, some 1980s, ’90s flicks), teach him all the sports, take him to the games. My mom and dad set a great example for me, so when my kid goes through some hard times, I will know exactly how he feels and will guide them through it. Ofc, I will share the Superman quote with my kid. :-)

Today has been a pretty shitty day and I’m not one of these people who seem to think that everyday is the worst day of their life. When I was beginning to feel down, I remembered a quote by Abraham Lincoln. He went through what would be the darkest period in the entire US history when both sides of his own soldiers were killing each other, in tens of thousands. Every passing day, he said to himself, “This too shall pass.”

So, when I think about that, I started to feel calm down and just be patient with the situation and not going overboard. I decided to google this quote and found this good article about a key technique to stay calm, ofc, starting with the quote above.

I always liked this quote that I once saw in a restaurant. “It’s nice to be important but it’s more important to be nice.” Anyone knows who said this? According to Google, seems like it’s John Lennon but I’m no music buff. :-)

About time for me to post something in here. The last two weeks have been pretty crazy. It started when I found out I got the phone interview with Google for data technician position at one of their datacenters that help power the search engine and gmail plus other hundred projects they have it going. The interview went ok, realized how much I need to learn more about Linux and stuffs if I am going to nail the 2nd interview. Then, I found out that our current landlord has decided he wants to sell the house where we’re living at, so I was busy looking for other places. Found 3 potential places, we’ll find out where we shall live by this weekend.

Ugh, I don’t particularly like moving to different place. It’s so time-consuming and have to come up with enough money to pay the security deposit, the rent, and other hundred stuffs you need to buy for moving out/in. Also, if I got the job, I might have to move out of DC and move in back with my uncle who lives in Leesburg where it’s closer to the Google datacenter whereabout (I still don’t know where exactly the place is but it’s located near Dulles airport) so they tell me.

All in all, life is changing but one of my fave quotes is “I don’t know where I’m going but I’m on my way.” and “Life happens when you’re busy making other plans.”
